Status: Dormant since c. 1677.
I. Sir Samuel Johnston of Elphinstone (d. 18 February 1637);
II. Sir John Johnston, second but eldest surviving son of the former (d. c. 1663);
III. Sir James Johnston, eldest son of the former. He went over to the continent and served for a time as Captain in the army of the Duke of Luneburg. He is unheard of after April 1677.
