Carrying on from the entry under Arnot of Balcormo in Volume 1 of the fifth series of the Red Book:
Stephen Arnot of Pitgrundie, was the second son of Peter Arnot, 1st of Balcormo (see Red Book of Scotland, 5th Series, Vol. 1, p. 228). He married Geils Leslie, who survived him and on 29 January 1569/70, she disponed her third-part of the lands of Pitgrundy to their eldest son, Stephen Arnot.[1] He was father of,
Stephen Arnot of Pitgrundy, acquired the lands of Pettening Easter and had a disposition for various lands around Perth from Katherine Chalmers who styles him her brother-in-law in July 1573 and May 1575. He died by March 1599 and was father of :
James Arnot, had Sasine for his father’s lands of Westerhaugh, within the burgh of Newburgh, on 29 March 1599.[2]

John Arnot of Pitgrundie, married Sara Lyell and was father of:
John Arnot, younger of Pitgrundie, was provided by his parents to the lands of West Pitgrundie and in which he was infeft by Sasine dated 15 December 1657 (NRS RS51/5/9). He married Margaret Reid, second daughter of the late James Reid, Provost of Dunfermline, by the terms of a marriage contract dated 19 December 1657, (NRS RS1/5/11).
